The Hot Cornerstone

Valentina, Luca, Jack, Isabella, Leo and Sofia-  you are Mets fans, and being a good Mets fan requires a keen sense of nostalgia.  Because, in many cases, last year will be better than this year, and you will hope next year will be as golden as '86.  We are baseball fans, and baseball fans are unique.  They follow their team every single day, through thrilling extra innings, sleeper day games, awkward double headers and sometimes the Mets carry us into football season.  It's the only sport worth listening to. It's the only sport you can smell.  We roll our eyes at the folks who call it "boring" and laugh inside at the goofy out of towner wearing a Yankees hat.  Hey, at least they're wearing a baseball cap, but if they were a baseball fan, they'd be wearing the blue and orange.  We've experienced true legends and let true greatness slip through out fingertips.  Win or lose, we keep on watching, keep on listening, read the box score every morning and continue to hope for tomorrow.  LET'S GO METS!!!
