A few things you may not have known about Captain James (Jas.) Hook:

- Creator J.M. Barrie penned Hook as a well-bred, distinguished graduate of Eton College (perhaps the most prestigious high school on Earth), where he was a member of the elite Eton Society and enjoyed reading Shakespeare.  He named the Jolly Roger after Eton schoolmate Roger Peter Davies, and his last words were "Floreat Etona," the school's motto. In his will, Hook left everything to Eton, but the school refused it.

- Barrie's Hook has a hooked hand on the right side, but many literary, stage, screen, and television adaptations place it on the left.

- The post-Barrie and pre-Disney Hook is known as Black Stache, a tribute to his own moustache, as well as those worn by every man, woman, and child in his family. Black Stache is a dirty, nasty bastard who eats raw meat and who accidentally cuts off his own hand by angrily slamming the lid of a large trunk on it.
